Calgoo enables calendar sharing and syncronization across lots of different platforms, including Mac, Windows and various web services. Might be worth a look for doing family calendar sharing, especially given the limitations and problems with MobileMe.

Lightview is another JavaScript-based overlay engine for websites. Way-cool look and feel, support for tons of media types, and there’s already a WordPress plugin to activate it along with some hints for integration with the WP NextGEN Gallery plugin.
