We’re All Set for Tomorrow’s Parade!

While the weather is going to be a bit chilly, we don’t expect any rain and it looks like we’ll have a GREAT turnout for the Celebration Parade in honor of Geitra receiving her Masters Degree!

The final details for the parade are listed below. And if anyone still wants to send in a “congrats” video clip, I need them by 7:30PM tonight to finalize the movie! More info on that is right here…

  1. Last-minute RSVP updates can be made on Evite.
  2. Please plan on arriving to Dranesville Elementary School (1515 Powells Tavern Place, Herndon, VA) between 1:30-1:45PM. Cars for the parade will line up in the Kiss-and-Ride loop for the school as shown below (the arrows assume you are coming to the school off of Dranesville Road).

  3. Look for Mickie Stalcup from Galilee UMC as you turn into the loop for any last-minute directions. She’ll be wearing a Nationals hat and carrying a sign.
  4. Mickie will start the parade heading to our home around 1:55PM so the first cars will pass our home just around 2:00PM. The parade will be led by Pastor Jason from Galilee UMC — he’s got a wedding to officiate shortly after this parade! You’ll turn right out of the school parking lot, then make a left turn onto Forty Oaks followed by an immediate left onto Rock Chapel road. You’ll then pass by our house, do a turn-around in the cul-de-sac at the end of the street, and make another pass by on your way out of the neighborhood.Route from Dranesville Elementary to the Mickelson household.

Again, thanks to EVERYONE who comes out for the parade tomorrow — and for those that can’t make it, thanks for sending along your best wishes and we hope to see you sometime soon!
